Brand New Life, Part 3 - The Power of One @imagechurch Dumfries, VA
We may never know the impact that our lives have on those around us and the world that we live in, whether that world is big or small. But we can choose to serve God with every aspect of our lives. Most of the time we do what we want to do. What if we put ourselves aside, daily? Because we realize the impact that one life can have on many.
No matter how long we have been a Christian, be it long or short, it is ALWAYS beneficial to go back to the simple truth of the Gospels. If we want our marriages to flourish, then we need to put self aside. Our lives are a marriage with God, reflecting the relationship of God with the church.
If you want to make an impact on other lives for the kingdom of God, we need to put self aside.
If we claim to love Jesus then we should make an intentional choice to love those that are difficult to love, who make our lives difficult.
Jesus sees our needs and fills them in the way that glorifies Himself, which may not always be the way that we want. Our deepest need is not our physical discomforts, but our sin. Jesus came to heal our deepest needs, we need to acknowledge His work in our lives. When Jesus touches a life, He brings about new life.
When Jesus touched Peter's mother-in-law, she was IMMEDIATELY healed and began to serve them. Our God is so powerful, that he can speak changes, but still chooses to touch our lives.
Maybe the reason she choose to immediately serve them is that her desire to serve had actually been healed, along with her physical need.
Have you been transformed by Jesus? This is not about coming to church every week, or serving in your life, this is about the transformation of the heart that only the Holy Spirit can do, and that give evidence in our actions but more importantly in our desires.
We are not saved by those who preach to us, nor by the words that we read. We are only transformed by Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and then flows out into our lives. We should not expect those who do not know Jesus to act like Jesus, we are the abnormal people in this world.
Doing good things does nothing for our salvation, only the work of Jesus. Jesus may never heal us in this life, but He ALWAYS saves and redeems those who turn to Him in this life.
Before the healing touch of Jesus in our lives, we were ALL wallowing in mud and despair. But then His healing touch changed our lives forever!
If we have been transformed by Jesus, are we serving Jesus? Is there a daily desire to magnify Him in our lives. Open the Bible EVERYDAY and pray. We may not always understand it everyday, but this is a discipline to persue that God WILL honor. Our desire should be to hear from Jesus before we hear from ANYONE ELSE.
To serve Jesus is to be like Jesus. It is an honor and privilege just to know Jesus, sometimes we can forget that simple truth. We get to serve the King, the creator of the universe and He desires to know us.
When Jesus gives us a #brandnewlife then He also gives us a brand new way to live, and a brand new purpose to live for.
When Jesus touches our lives, it brings glory and honor to Jesus and that shines to those around us, and others will be drawn to our changed life.
Remember that if we feel pressure in our lives, being attacked, then it is a good thing. The church is on the offense and demonic forces are on the defense. We are only hit because we are hitting first.
The touch of Jesus can heal our physical lives, but more importantly it heals our hearts and our relationship with God.
The miraculous work of Jesus in one person's life can lead to many seeing Jesus magnified. If we know Jesus, if we have a #brandnewlife, it should be evident in our lives.
Imagine this... imagine your life being used to impact many lives.
