*Just like we were made to function in Glory, and made to live in God's Glory we were made to worship and worshipping will get us to the point to where we live in God's glory.
We were made to worship:
Isaiah 43:20-21 The beasts of the field honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen, The people I formed Myself, that they may set forth My praise [and they shall do it].
Isaiah 43: 21(NIV) the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise
*When we Praise and worship we are doing what we are created for which creates an environment that allows God to come and manifest (easily understood and recognized by the mind) Himself in all His Glory, Power and Love.
*When you Praise and Worship God it's something that is exciting. It's like receiving great news, or your favorite team winning or seeing your favorite celebrity, like some people do over Justin Bieber, or Michael Jackson, etc, and they are man.
*Why is it that it is so easy to show praise for a human being , that can not save you or give you life, or heal you, but when it comes to God who brought us into this world, gave us life, and can do anything we either are ashamed or we show no enthusiasm for Him?
*Why is it that we can go to a club and dance away all night but when it comes to praising and worshipping we want to sit, sleep or anything else?
The Bible shows us that it is key to
praise and worship and even dance.....
Psalm 149:3 Let them praise His name in chorus and choir and with the [single or group] dance;
Psalm 150 PRAISE THE Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the heavens of His power! Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness! Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp! Praise Him with tambourine and [single or group] dance; praise Him with stringed and wind instruments or flutes! Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
Exodus 15:20-21 Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and dancing.21 And Miriam responded to them, Sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously and is highly exalted; the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea
2 Samuel 6:14-21 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, clad in a linen ephod [a priest’s upper garment]. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. As the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter [David’s wife], looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart. They brought in the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.18 When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name [and presence] of the Lord of hosts, And distributed among all the people, the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to each a cake of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins. So all the people departed, each to his house. Then David returned to bless his household. And [his wife] Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, How glorious was the king of Israel today, who stripped himself of his kingly robes and uncovered himself in the eyes of his servants’ maids as one of the worthless fellows shamelessly uncovers himself! David said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry [in pure enjoyment] before the Lord.
*We have so many reasons to want to dance shout scream and yell. We have so many thing to praise God for.
We are alive, have use of our arms, we can think, we aren't slaved, or stuck in a country were we don't have rights, we have food, and the lists goes on.
*It has to come from the heart. What you are telling God is that you love Him above anyone and anything else. You are letting Him know that you trust Him and know that He will come through for you
As you praise and worship God, He reveals His secrets and heart to you. He will do things for you and through you, beyond your wildest dreams and prayers!!
Acts 16:25-30 But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them, Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened. When the jailer, startled out of his sleep, saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was on the point of killing himself, because he supposed that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, Do not harm yourself, for we are all here! Then [the jailer] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling and terrified he fell down before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out [of the dungeon] and said, Men, what is it necessary for me to do that I may be saved?
*This is an example of what praise and worship can do, they weren't ashamed at all, and it led to the jailer being saved. But look at it in not just a physical sense. When you have problems in life, when you are being attacked and feel so down, nd helpless (like you are in a jail) start to praise God, and he will come down and free you from your problems, from your dark dungeon, or jail.
What's also imperative to understand. If you keep reading this chapter. The jailor was saved an he nd his family got saved and baptized and the jailor brought Paul and Silas to his home and he rejoiced. So when you praise God and get to that place or environment that God has for us we become different. We experience the love and will of God, and our lives are never the same again. And the people around us are affected and the people around us want what we have.
