-Prayer is important, not just when we need something.
-Elijah prayed because he was a servant of God
-Elijah was a man just like us
- he found it hard to pray, just like us
-he makes no excuses, so should we pray and make no excuses why we are not praying
-when we pray,wisdom comes from God
-We can overcome temptation through prayer
-Know that's its God's will that will be done
-Prayer is the first thing must do, the first choice, not the last resort.
-Do not give up, pray until they are answered
-Pray without ceasing, any time about any thing
-Pray with a clean heart.
-16 says confess to each other, this means go to elders of church, the body of Christ for help and accountability and to be with each other, to build up each other, to pray with each other
-involve others in your prayers

-Righteous person does not mean sinless, perfect, but with a right relationship with God, trust in Jesus
-Find someone to pray with
-if you give up, who's going to help you?
-Next thing you do, is give up on God, then what?

-The people turned back to God, repented, started worshipping the true God again
-People still today worship idols, making excuses, busy, celebrations, parties, work, etc.
-There is a difference between the love of God and the love of people
-God loved us before we were born, before we became sinners.

-We know God has a future for us, a plan mapped out for us, we need to pray to help us find what it is.
-Pray, the Bible says even when happy or things going right, pray, give thanksgiving and adoration and glorify God
-We don't have to be extraordinary people to pray, Gideon, Elijah, Jonah, Joshua, Peter, Job, Abraham
-Trust in Him and be in obedience to The Lord, continue praying.
-The answers may not always be what we want, but of what The Lord wants for us.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. (James 5:16-18 NIV)
Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: (1 Kings 17:2 NIV)
After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: "Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land." (1 Kings 18:1 NIV)
