Pastor Deven shares his of verse. That verse that sticks to your life and carries you through. His is Psalm 27:1
The Lord knew the path of his life and which scripture he would need. The leadership positions he would hold but he had a fear of people but God presented him with a life verse. He was shy, quiet, lonely and introverted but God used him. He was afraid of what others thought but used him in High School to change his high school. He was at one point so fearful of what others would say but God rid that. Fear is ripping people off! It it creating approval addicts in our culture. And it is destroying people's lives.
Fear of rejection is the worst. Rejection can come from all sorts of direction and so hard to deal with.
1. Put God first - The Lord is my light and salvation! He is "mine". It's personal. Become secure in your relationship with Christ. It becomes a personal experience. Light illuminates. It gives us courage. Light is all around you. You are IN in his light. It creates security. It exposes and energizes. Light makes you feel alive. It protects and secures. Without light you are susceptible to fear of rejection. Human love is limited but God's love is unlimited and unconditional!
2. Put people in their place - Put their opinions in the right place. Don't overvalue what they say. Their opinions won't last. Sometimes we want to live for their applause. Trying to please man wont please God. When God is for us who can be against us?
3. Put yourself in the proper place - The enemy wants to sow a seed of doubt. It creates insecurity. While we are stuck in our own insecurity there's a world of hurt waiting on our ministry. We miss the opportunity to serve and minister to others. Stop trying to win approval. Know you are loved and accepted! We are acceptable to and because of God!
This keeps us centered and telling the truth at all times. Living for the approval of others is a miserable way to live. We've got to get a new perspective!
