Division, anger, gossip, jealousy, fighting. All of these are works of the flesh. They are our natural state. The only way to subdue them is to stay in close fellowship with God. To take time every day to listen to Him through His Word and talk to Him through prayer.
These things slowly creep back into my life when I miss my devotions for even just one day. There was a period in my life where I would go for weeks without communing with God. No wonder I was so messed up, and didn't even realize it.
Of course I'm still not perfect. But the truth is the new man needs to be fed. The new man needs to abide in the vine or it withers and becomes useless.
This is such a simple concept and yet very few Christians really get it. But I'm probably preaching to the choir, cause my guess is if you are reading this then you are one of those who does get it. And you know exactly what I am talking about.
Let's spread the Word! Thanks to Youversion for making this an easier task. God bless!
