Grace- the unfettered favor of God
Grace is what allows us to overcome the sin in our lives.
Church should be a place of safety, a place where people can reveal their sin and find people who will help them and support them through their repentance.
We're not "mistakes" we're sinners. We like to soft peddle the idea of grace... Sometimes we're quick to judge and slow to offer grace... Other times were heavy in grace and ignore truth.
1. Gods truth is universal, objective, and is unchanging.
Truth- factual, based on reality, adheres to a standard of laws.
Jesus lived out truth. He was truth!
Grace is relationship and freedom focused.
We need divine assistance!!! Everyday!! That is grace! All inclusive, undeserved & free!
"If we minimize grace we remove all hope of salvation, you remove the truth, there is no need for salvation." -Henry Cloud
Grace and truth are the entirety of what's required to function in the ways of Christ.
A grace-starved, a truth-starved world needs Jesus, full of grace and truth.
How can we be a better representative of Jesus?
The laws were given through Moses, but grace and truth were given by Jesus.
Don't go around wanting grace but giving only truth.
Do you recognize your need for a savior? If not, you've come to s place of entitlement.
Where do you find it hard to walk out both grace and truth to others? Why? Do you struggle receiving it?
How can you better embrace grace and truth and display it to others around you?
Am I the voice of reconciliation? An I selective of who I offer grace to?
God help us all.
