Then the entire congregation of the People of Israel got together at Shiloh. They put up the Tent of Meeting. but there were still seven Israelite tribes who had yet to receive their inheritance. Joshua addressed the People of Israel: "How long are you going to sit around on your hands, putting off taking possession of the land that God, the God of your ancestors, has given you? (Joshua 18:1-3 MSG)
Sitting around on your hands, not getting done what God has called you to do! Boy, this is to the point.
Were they procrastinating because they were just comfortable where they were at?
For whatever reason these 7 tribes weren't taking what God had already given them.
Joshua sounds a little put out. He has to give them a Kick In the pants to get them moving!
I wonder if God doesn't need to kick us in the pants every now and then?
We're prone to excuses and being apathetic sometimes.
We forget their is a purpose to our breathing!
God has plans for us!
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV)
We're not only apathetic, but just plain pathetic!
Can we just take what's ours?
It's like someone giving us a house, and we are too afraid to live in it!
Well, God HAS given us things. And they go unclaimed! I wonder how many things are in the un-claimed department of heaven?
Let's claim our land!
