November 15, 2020 | How Is Truth Applied
The foundation of a believer is Christ. What we build on that foundation depends on our personal commitment to knowing, believing, and living out the truth. Today, we'll take a closer look at the importance of building with materials that will stand the test of time.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work. If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.
Master Builder
According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it. For no one can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. v. 10-11
Ephesians 2:20
…having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone…
Question:
With everything going on in the world today do you still believe and have faith in the spiritual foundation of Jesus?
Quality Materials
Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will testthe quality of each one’s work. v. 12-13
…But each person must be careful how he builds on it.
Question:
Are you building something with your life that will be enduring or are you presently building certain parts of your life with shaky, flimsy materials that could go up in a puff of smoke?
Right Motives
If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. v. 14-15
Revelation 11:18
And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.
James 3:1
Do not become teachers in large numbers, my brothers, since you know that we who are teachers will incur a stricter judgment.
Question:
Can you imagine serving as a leader and having nothing to offer God in heaven?
