Cross City Church
October 11, 2020 | What Will We Embrace?
Join us today as Pastor John Meador walks us through biblical voting in the midst of a non-Christian culture. There are many things that the world will disagree on, but there are absolute truths in the gospel of Jesus Christ on which believers must stand united.

1 Corinthians 1:25, 2:6-9
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men…Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
We are to always speak God’s truths, and we will often be misunderstood.
My personal convictions should be guided by the Bible, not by the culture or convenience, and most certainly, not by theories of others which are in conflict with the Holy Scripture.

—Ronnie Floyd
Immerse this season with PRAYER.
First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgiving, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Engage this decision on PLATFORM.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
Truth should bring us together.
How will my vote reflect the Biblical value of the unborn?
Pro-life is more than caring about life inside the womb, but it is in no way less than caring about the unborn.
Proverbs 31:8-9
Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.
How will my vote reflect the biblical value of religious freedom?
1 Timothy 2:1-2
…for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
How will my vote reflect justice issues?
Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Deuteronomy 16:18–20
You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
How will my vote reflect the biblical value of the family?
Evaluate a leader through PEOPLE
"Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so wise and discerning as you are…” Genesis 41:38-39
End this decision with PEACE.
Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
