Faith Takes Grit - God’s Love Shows No Partiality
Welcome to Grace Chapel! It is easy to judge a book by its cover or a person by their outward appearance. In God’s Kingdom, there is no favoritism based on statues or bank account. Rather, we are to all humble love God and love others in order to display to the watching world a relentless love found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Avoid the sin of favoritism (vv. 1-4).
“Favoritism” | προσωπολημψία : To receive someone according to their face.
If we love the way God loves, we don’t play favorites.
By favoring others, you miss the heart of God (vv. 5-7).
Unconditional love fulfills the royal law (vv. 9-10).
The Scripture in James:
· The imparted Word
· The Royal Law
· The Law of Liberty
Love others in light of God’s future judgement (vv. 11-13)
God’s gracious acceptance of us does not end our obligation to obey Him, but begins it.
This week I will...
· Identify the areas where I am favoring someone based on their statues, wealth or appearance and ask God to rid me of partiality
· Find someone who is in need and do what I can to help meet it
· Read Luke chapter 9 and identify what God needs me to change in my life
· Ask my community or small group where we can be better at accepting all people into our group
