Security in God
For the choir director: on stringed instruments. Davidic.
1God, hear my cry;
pay attention to my prayer. # Ps 17:1; 88:2; 142:6
2I call to You from the ends of the earth
when my heart is without strength. # Ps 88:4
Lead me to a rock that is high above me, # Ps 27:5
3for You have been a refuge for me,
a strong tower # Pr 18:10 in the face of the enemy.
4I will live in Your tent forever
and take refuge under the shelter of Your wings. # Ru 2:12; Ps 17:8; 91:4Selah
5God, You have heard my vows; # Jb 22:27; Ps 56:12
You have given a heritage
to those who fear Your name. # Mal 4:2
6Add days to the king’s life;
may his years span many generations. # Ps 21:4
7May he sit enthroned before God forever; # Ps 41:12
appoint faithful love and truth to guard him. # Ps 40:11
8Then I will continually sing of Your name, # Ps 7:17; 9:2; 18:49
fulfilling my vows day by day. # Ps 65:1; 116:14,18
