8Not for your sacrifices #See Ps. 40:6do I rebuke you;

9I will not accept a bull from your house

10For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 # [Matt. 10:29] I know all the birds of the hills,
and all that moves in the field is mine.

# [1 Tim. 5:22] and you keep company with adulterers.
19“You give your mouth free rein for evil,
# [Ps. 52:2] and your tongue frames deceit.
20You sit and speak against your brother;
you slander your own mother’s son.
21These things you have done, and I #Eccles. 8:11; Isa. 57:11 have been silent;
you thought that I#50:21 Or that the I am was one like yourself.
But now I #Ps. 90:8; 2 Kgs. 19:4 rebuke you and #Job 13:18; 23:4lay the charge before you.
22“Mark this, then, you who #See Ps. 9:17 forget God,
lest I tear you apart, and there be #Ps. 7:2none to deliver!
23The one who #ver. 14, 15 offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who #[Gal. 6:16] orders his way rightly
I will show the #Ps. 91:16salvation of God!”
