Wives and Husbands
1#1Co 7:16; Col 3:18Likewise you wives, be submissive to your own husbands, so that if any do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2as they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3#Isa 3:18–24Do not let your adorning be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine clothing. 4#Ro 7:22; Ps 149:4But let it be the hidden nature of the heart, that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5#1Ti 5:5For in this manner, in the old times, the holy women, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, 6#Ge 18:12even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You are her children as long as you do right and are not afraid with any terror.

Suffering for Righteousness’ Sake

It is not washing off the dirt from the body, but a response to God from a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22#Ro 8:38; Mk 16:19who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels and authorities and powers being made subject to Him.
