God Wants You Well

Just as loving parents do not desire sickness for their children, God does not desire sickness for His. Sickness is not a sign of aging, like we have been taught to believe; it is incipient death, and it is not normal. There is no such thing as children’s, youth’s, or old-age sickness. Sickness is not God’s style.

Scripture is clear that sickness is the work of the devil, and God is opposed to it. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil (1John3:8). And Jesus Christ has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Sickness belongs to the curse of the law (Deuteronomy 28), but redemption is God’s answer to the curse (Galatians 3:13). Christ redeemed us by becoming a curse for us on the cross, so that the blessing promised to Abraham could come to us through Christ Jesus.

God’s desire for us is not merely to survive, but to live fully. Jesus said He came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Redemption restores us to God’s original intention for wholeness, freedom, and life.

If you take time to read Deuteronomy 28, you will see that many sicknesses people have learned to accept are listed under the curse. Redemption delivers us from that curse.

God wants you well. Redemption confirms it (Isaiah 53:4-5,1Peter 2:24).
