The Gospel and Our Witnessنموونە

Lent gives us time to slow down and return to what matters most. Paul tells the Corinthians that the Gospel is not simply a message they heard once and moved on from, but the message they received and the message in which they stand. That means the Gospel is not only the beginning of faith—it is the foundation of the Christian life.
Paul describes the Gospel clearly: we were dead in our sins, Christ came, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again from the dead, and now sits on the right hand of God the Father and offers us to place our trust in Him alone for eternal life. This message is not built on human ideas or self-improvement. It is built on what God has done through Jesus Christ.
The Gospel is also personal. Jesus died for “our sins.” Lent helps us remember that sin is not small, and salvation was not simple. It required the suffering and death of the Son of God. But His sacrifice on our behalf paid the debt we owed. And for those who ask Him to come into their hearts, they know that death no longer has the final word.
When we share the Gospel, we do not tell people to try harder. We tell them what Jesus has done. When the Gospel is central in our hearts, it becomes natural to speak of it with humility, gratitude, and clarity.
Reflection:
- How would you explain the Gospel from 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 in your own words?
- Have you been holding fast to the Gospel recently, or drifting into spiritual “autopilot”?
Prayer:
"Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for my sins and rising again. Help me to treasure the Gospel and hold fast to it. Give me opportunities to share it clearly and faithfully. Amen."

This 7-day Lent devotional focuses on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our calling to share it. Each day centers on Scripture and key truths of salvation: Christ’s death and resurrection, grace, repentance and faith, and God’s work in drawing people to Himself. Through Lent, we remember the cost of the cross and renew our confidence to live and speak as Christ’s witnesses.
