Abundant Life: God’s Plan for You

You Must Be Born Again

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. … ‘You must be born again.’”(John 3:3, 7 NIV)

When Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again,” He wasn’t talking about a physical rebirth but a spiritual one. The truth is, without this second birth, we cannot experience the fullness of life God intends for us. Being “born again” means the Spirit of God gives new life to our hearts; a life that sees, hears, and responds to the kingdom of heaven even while living on earth.

This is the beginning of abundant life. Before Christ, we may have existed, but we weren’t truly alive. When we are born again in Christ, we begin a new kind of life; one marked by transformation, hope, and intimacy with God. Spiritual rebirth isn’t a one-time event; it’s a continual renewal as we surrender daily to His transforming work. Each day we die a little more to self and come more fully alive in Him.

God didn’t save us to make us better versions of our old selves; He made us entirely new. His Spirit now dwells within us, empowering us to walk in freedom, love, and victory.

Reflection
Are you living in your new life in Christ, or are you still clinging to old patterns of thinking and striving? Invite the Holy Spirit to renew your heart today.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for new birth through Your Spirit. Help me to walk as one who has been made new; no longer bound by my past, but alive with Your purpose and peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
