Obedience to Grace and Truth

Joseph’s story captures the quiet power of obedience. When he discovered that Mary was expecting a child, fear and confusion filled his heart. He planned to step away quietly until an angel appeared to him in a dream: “Do not be afraid.”

In that moment, Joseph received both grace and truth. Grace came through the reassurance of God’s presence. Truth came through the command to act in faith even when it made no sense. His obedience made him part of the greatest story ever told.

Like Joseph, we are often called to obedience that stretches us. God’s truth reveals what is right, and His grace empowers us to follow. Our “yes” to God, however small, can change lives we may never see.

As Advent draws near its close, listen for God’s voice in the quiet places. His invitations may not always make sense, but His grace will always provide what is needed to follow through.

Reflection Questions:

1. What fear or hesitation might be keeping you from saying “yes” to God’s invitation?

2. How has obedience in the past led you to discover God’s faithfulness in new ways?

3. What act of faith could you take this week that would make space for grace to grow in your life?

Grace & Truth

Advent is the season when we prepare our hearts for the arrival of Jesus - the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. In these five reflections, we’ll look at how Jesus reveals the fullness of God’s love and challenges us to live in that same balance of mercy and conviction. Each week offers a Scripture reading, a short devotional, and questions for reflection to help you draw closer to Christ. As you read, may you come to know that God’s grace meets you in truth, and His truth always leads you back to grace.
