Carrying the Light

Throughout these days, we have seen how God’s plan unfolded with precision and love. He came to Mary with a promise, to the shepherds with good news, to the wise with direction, and to the world with salvation. Each part of the story reveals the heart of a God who moves toward people, not away from them.

But now the story shifts. The Son who came to earth has risen and lives within his people. Jesus once said that those who follow him would become the light of the world. We are now the reflection of the same light that first shone over Bethlehem. Our words, our compassion, and our choices carry the message that God is near.

Christmas is a beginning, not an ending. It reminds us that the presence of Jesus is not something to visit once a year but something to live out daily. His peace shapes how we respond to others. His humility teaches us to serve. His love compels us to reach beyond ourselves.

In every ordinary place, God is still writing his story through willing hearts. When we show grace, forgive quickly, or choose kindness, the light of Christ shines again. The world may change, but the message stays the same; the Son has come, and his light will never fade.

Before the season ends, take a few minutes to pause and thank God for what he has shown you during this journey. Write a simple prayer or statement beginning with the words, “Because the Son has come…” Let it become a declaration of how you want to live in the year ahead.
