Knowing God's Names

Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.

Psalm 145:2, NASB

God gives you His names in His Word with a great purpose. He wants you to know and trust Him. His names reveal His character. The more you know who God is, the more you will love and trust Him. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals countless truths about Himself.

Think about His revelation for a moment. Why would He give you so many truths about who He is, what He does, and what He says? He does this for one primary reason—He wants you to know and experience Him in a vibrant, intimate, ongoing relationship. When you read God’s Word, you realize God wears His heart on His sleeve, constantly showing you His thoughts and feelings. The world believes God is distant and impersonal, but we know He is near and intimate with us. Take time today to know and love God more.

Lord, thank You for revealing so much of Yourself to me. I delight to know You more. Amen.
