Using Your Gifts

Ever felt like what you have isn't enough? Like everyone else got the talent, the confidence, the calling—and you're just trying to figure it out?

I've been there. It's easy to believe your gifts are too small, too simple, or not "spiritual" enough to matter in God's kingdom work. But here's the truth: God doesn't waste anything.

When Peter wrote to scattered believers in 1 Peter 4:10, he wasn't addressing pastors or platform leaders. He was writing to everyday people trying to live out their faith in a messy world. His message was simple: "Use whatever gift you have received to serve others."

Whatever. Not "impressive" gifts or "ministry" gifts. Whatever you have.

Paul echoes this in Romans 12, writing to new believers still figuring out faith and life. He lists gifts like teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, showing mercy—and never says some matter more than others. Just "use what you have, and use it well."

Here's what I love about the family business: you don't need a title to contribute. You don't need a platform, a microphone, or a million followers. You just need to be faithful with what's in your hands.

The carpenter uses his skills to build. The teacher uses her gift to encourage. The friend uses their heart to listen. All of it matters in God's kingdom because it's all powered by the same Spirit, serving the same Lord.

Someone today is praying for exactly what God placed inside you. Stop waiting until you feel ready. What He's given you is needed now.

Reflection Question: What gift has God placed in me, by creation or by His Spirit, that I've been holding back, and who might need it today?

Prayer: God, thank You for creating me with intention and purpose. Help me stop second-guessing and start stewarding what You've given me. Show me who I can serve today. Amen.

Tomorrow, we'll discover the heart of the Father's business—and it's not productivity or performance. It's people.
