Face to Face with Jesus

The religious leaders didn’t bring the woman caught in adultery to Jesus out of concern for her soul. They weren’t interested in helping her heal or find freedom. She wasn’t a person to them, she was a pawn. They used her shame to try and trap Jesus. She wasn’t the target of their attack, but she ended up in the crossfire.

But here’s what I love: even their evil plans couldn’t stop grace from finding her. In fact, they set the stage for her to come face to face with the Savior.

While everyone else saw her failure, Jesus saw her heart. While others glared with judgment, He looked at her with compassion. She met His eyes, eyes that didn’t flinch at her mess, eyes that held no disgust or disappointment. Just love. Gentle, powerful love.

And when the crowd slipped away, Jesus spoke life over her: “Go and sin no more.” Not as a harsh command, but as an invitation: an invitation to walk free, to begin again, to live differently. For the first time, she may have tasted real hope.

Sister, maybe you’ve been caught in someone else’s mess. Maybe religion wounded you more than it helped you. But Jesus isn’t like them. He sees you. He cares. And He’s inviting you to lift your head, look into His eyes, and walk forward in freedom.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for seeing me when others overlook me or worse, use my pain for their own gain. Thank You for meeting me with compassion instead of condemnation. Help me to look into Your eyes and believe what You say about me. I want to walk in the freedom You offer. I want to live changed by Your love. Amen.

Reflection Question:
What would it mean for you to truly believe that Jesus looks at you with love, not disappointment? How might that change the way you see yourself today?
