DEPRESSION IS a LIE - a Podcast Series With Dustin Tavellaنموونە

Let’s Get Real:
God is not waiting for you to be perfect.
Let that sink in for a second.
He’s not checking off boxes to see if you’re "Christian enough" before He uses you.
He’s not standing on the sidelines waiting for you to pull yourself together.
He’s already in the game—on your team.
Today’s video hit something deep:
We’ve bought the illusion that strength = worth.
That success = qualification.
That perfection = purpose.
But that’s not the Gospel.
That’s Instagram Christianity. And it’s empty.
Break the Illusion
Let’s rip the mask off this lie:
“If I struggle, God can’t use me.”
“If I’m broken, I must be disqualified.”
“If I’m not strong, I’m not enough.”
Nope. All wrong.
The truth?
God doesn’t recruit the perfect. He empowers the honest.
When we bring Him our mess, He breathes purpose into it.
When we bring Him our weakness, He builds strength from it.
It’s not that you’re not enough—it’s that you were never meant to carry it alone.
You Don’t Have to Save Yourself
God never asked you to be the Savior.
That job’s already taken.
Your strength? It’s not the foundation—He is.
Your performance? It’s not the point—His grace is.
And the pressure to have it all together?
Crushed under the weight of a cross.
So, What Now?
You might be in a season where you feel like everyone else is winning and you’re just surviving.
You might be hiding your sadness because you think it’ll make you a burden.
You might think you’ve fallen too far to be useful.
But here’s the wild, upside-down truth of the Kingdom:
God picks the broken to carry the beautiful.
You’re not a side character in this story—you’re on the front lines.
God looks at you and says:
“Yep. I want them on My team.”
Your Challenge Today:
- Call out the lie that says you have to be perfect to have purpose.
- Make a list of your current weaknesses or struggles—and then write next to each one:"God can use this."
- Remind yourself:"God isn’t done with me. He’s just getting started."
Prayer You Can Pray:
God, I’m tired of trying to look like I have it all together. I don’t. You know every crack and every weakness in me—and You still choose me. Thank You for being strong where I’m not. Thank You for not giving up on me when I feel like giving up on myself. Use my life, my story, my brokenness for something beautiful. I trust You to carry what I can’t. Amen.
Bottom Line:
God’s not waiting for perfection—He’s moving through your weakness.
You’ve been picked, empowered, and loved right where you are.
So go live like that’s true.
Because it is.
