In Our Suffering, Lord Be Near: A 5-Day Devotionalنموونە

Shattered,
I bring myself to the foot of the throne.
Piece by piece,
I drag all that I have to the Father.
With my last ounce of energy,
I fall at the feet of my King.
I cannot lift my head;
I cannot raise a finger.
Wholly imperfect,
all that I have is a broken spirit.
This is me, Father.
All that I have,
I give to You.
All that I am is Yours.
In this world,
I have nothing.
In this body,
I have no hope.
But in you, O Lord,
I will carry on.
For I see now, so clearly,
that I am a foreigner,
a traveler in a place that is not my home.
If this were my home,
I would not wish to stay here.
But my home is in Your arms, O God,
my shelter is in Your presence.
My refuge is Your right hand;
my comfort is in Your light.
I am an infant,
a wanting child,
full of tears and needs,
of which I cannot fulfill on my own.
So here I lie.
To be in Your presence is all that I want:
to be close,
to be near
to my Almighty Father.
Scoop me up in Your strong and mighty hands;
bring me close so that I can feel Your warmth.
Wrap me up in Your robes;
hold me tight.
Here is where I wish to be,
so here I will stay.
Silent, in solitude,
I will have all that I need if I am here with You.
Amen.
