I love Rube Goldberg machines. They are elaborate, complicated systems that accomplish simple tasks. Usually they are many small things that work toward one bigger goal, but sometimes they can be a few big things that do something small.

Corrie came from a Bible-believing family. The Bible had a central place in their lives. The Living Word of God: the Lord Jesus Christ, spoke to them through the written Word of God. The book of Job chronicles testing a righteous man's faith through suffering. Although Job's friends attempt to comfort him, it is only by God's revelation of His wisdom and might that Job finds true comfort. Even in deep suffering, God can do all things, and none of His purposes can be thwarted (Job 42:2).
