نەوەی ئیسرائیل لەبەرچاوی یەزدان گەڕانەوە بۆ خراپەکاری. بەعلەکان و عەشتۆرەتەکان و خوداوەندەکانی ئارام، سەیدا، مۆئاب، عەمۆنییەکان و فەلەستییەکانیان پەرست و وازیان لە یەزدان هێنا و نەیانپەرست. لەبەر ئەوە تووڕەیی یەزدان لە ئیسرائیلییەکان هاتە جۆش و ڕادەستی فەلەستییەکان و عەمۆنییەکانی کردن. ئەوانیش لەو ساڵەوە نەوەی ئیسرائیلیان تێکشکاند و ستەمیان لێکردن. بۆ ماوەی هەژدە ساڵ نەوەی ئیسرائیلیان دەچەوساندەوە، هەموو ئەوانەی کە لە بەری ڕۆژهەڵاتی ڕووباری ئوردون بوون لە خاکی ئەمۆرییەکان ئەوانەی لە گلعاد بوون. عەمۆنییەکان لە ڕووباری ئوردونیش پەڕینەوە بۆ جەنگ لە دژی یەهودا و بنیامین و بنەماڵەی ئەفرایم، بۆیە ئیسرائیل زۆر پەرێشان بوون. جا نەوەی ئیسرائیل هاواریان بۆ یەزدان کرد و گوتیان: «ئێمە گوناهمان کرد دەرهەق بە تۆ، چونکە وازمان لە خودای خۆمان هێنا و بەعلەکانمان پەرست.» یەزدانیش بە نەوەی ئیسرائیلی فەرموو: «کاتێک میسری، ئەمۆری، عەمۆنی، فەلەستی، سەیدائی، عەمالێقی و ماعۆنییەکان، تەنگیان پێتان هەڵچنی، ئیتر هاوارتان بۆ کردم، ئایا منیش لە دەستیان ڕزگارم نەکردن؟ بەڵام ئێوە وازتان لێ هێنام و خودای دیکەتان پەرست. لەبەر ئەوە ئیتر ڕزگارتان ناکەم. بڕۆن هاوار بکەن بۆ ئەو خوداوەندانەی هەڵتانبژاردوون، با لە کاتی تەنگانەتان ئەوان ڕزگارتان بکەن.» نەوەی ئیسرائیلیش بە یەزدانیان گوت: «گوناهمان کرد، جا چی بە باش دەزانیت پێمانی بکە، تەنها هەر ئەمڕۆ دەربازمان بکە.» ئیتر خوداوەندە بێگانەکانیان لەنێو خۆیاندا لابرد و یەزدانیان پەرست. یەزدان بەهۆی کڵۆڵیی ئیسرائیلەوە دڵتەنگ بوو.
