I have come to realize that there are countless people who, even though they have sought forgiveness, have difficulty letting go of the past. In this study, some of Jesus' last words and request from God gives insight into how to live in the freedom He desires for each of us.

1 Peter was written to early Christians scattered throughout Asia Minor. Peter called his beloved readers “elect exiles” because they were suffering for their faith and longing for their heavenly home. Desiring to encourage them to live victoriously while trusting the Lord, he identified three living things they had in their sojourning. You also have these things, Christian: a living hope, the living Word, and the living stone–Jesus Christ himself.

What we think about most impacts the decisions and direction of our life. Think lies, and you’ll fall. Think truth, and you’ll arrive at God’s calling and promises for your life. In this five-day study, you’ll learn how to fight off the accusations and temptations that we all struggle with and win the battle for your mind.

As Christians, we need a sober and biblically-based expectation of life. Life is to be enjoyed, but it will not always be enjoyable! Jesus prepared his disciples thoroughly for trials and testing, suffering and persecution. Our God is faithful and comforts us in every trial, so we invite you to come with us in this devotional as we learn to navigate the valleys of life in faith.
