Start With the Right Foundation

Every lasting relationship begins with a strong foundation, and that foundation must be God. Marriage was God’s idea, not man’s. He designed it, so He knows how it works best. Genesis reminds us that when God made man and woman, each was absent when the other was formed. That means neither fully understands the other without God’s wisdom and guidance.

When God is not the foundation of your relationship, emotions, pressure, and culture will take over. A strong relationship is built on prayer, purpose, and shared faith. Without these, love easily fades. With them, it grows deeper.

To build wisely, take time to know God’s design for love and marriage. Understand yourself too; your temperament, past experiences, and expectations. Many relationships crumble not because of lack of love, but because of lack of understanding. When you learn to see people through God’s eyes, you’ll stop generalizing and start empathizing.

Let God be your architect. When you surrender your plans to Him, He shapes your relationship with purpose, peace, and strength that lasts through storms.
