Verse

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 ESV).

Reflection

Before His ascension, Jesus promised his followers that as they received the Holy Spirit, they also received the power needed to be witnesses and tell others about Him. Today, we can take that same promise to heart. All who accept Jesus as Savior are made into new creations as the Holy Spirit also dwells within them. And it is this Holy Spirit who has the power to guide us as we share the gospel and to change the hearts of those who hear.

Remember this

We are actually empowered by God’s Holy Spirit to be witnesses.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to rest in the knowledge that through the Holy Spirit, you will empower my efforts to lead others into a relationship with you. Amen.
