As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. A sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.

As a door turns on its hinges, so does a sluggard on his bed. The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth.

As a door swings back and forth on its hinges, so the lazy person turns over in bed. Lazy people take food in their hand but don’t even lift it to their mouth.

A door turns on its hinges, and a slacker, on his bed.  The slacker buries his hand in the bowl; he is too weary to bring it to his mouth!

As the door turneth upon his hinges, So doth the slothful upon his bed. The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; It grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

Just as a door turns on its hinges, so a lazybones turns back over in bed. A shiftless sluggard puts his fork in the pie, but is too lazy to lift it to his mouth.

As the door turns on its hinges, So does a lazy one on his bed. A lazy one buries his hand in the dish; He is weary of bringing it to his mouth again.

As the door turns on its hinges, So does the lazy person on his bed [never getting out of it]. The lazy person buries his hand in the dish [losing opportunity after opportunity]; It wearies him to bring it back to his mouth. [Prov 19:24]

Like a door that turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. The sluggard plunges his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
