Much to humanity's dismay, Jesus issued the disappointing news in John 16, verse 33: “Here on earth you will have many trials & sorrows.” Why didn’t He tell His faithful followers that He was removing heartache & tragedy from this earth? In John 16, the disciples are nervous, scared, and confused that Jesus is leaving, and the world will turn against them. Jesus tells them that no matter what happens next, they are not alone.
