Mordecai’s Fame
1King Ahasuerus imposed a tax throughout the land # Est 1:1; 8:9 even to the farthest shores. # Or imposed forced labor on the land and the coasts of the sea # Is 11:11; 24:15 2All of his powerful and magnificent accomplishments # Est 1:4 and the detailed account of Mordecai’s great rank to which the king had honored him, # Est 8:15 have they not been written in the Historical Records of the Kings of Media and Persia? # Est 2:23; 6:1-2 3Mordecai the Jew was second only to King Ahasuerus, # Gn 41:40-43; 2Ch 28:7; Est 8:15; Dn 5:7 famous among the Jews, and highly popular with many of his relatives. # Est 8:16-17 He continued to seek good for his people and to speak for the welfare of all his descendants. # Neh 2:10
