The Line of Seth
1These are the family # Lit written family records # Gn 2:4 of the descendants of Adam. On the day that God created man, # Or Adam He made him in the likeness of God; 2He created them male and female. When they were created, He blessed them and called them man. # Or Adam
3Adam was 130 years old when he fathered a son in his likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth. 4Adam lived 800 years after the birth of Seth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 5So Adam’s life lasted 930 years; then he died.
6Seth was 105 years old when he fathered Enosh. 7Seth lived 807 years after the birth of Enosh, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 8So Seth’s life lasted 912 years; then he died.
9Enosh was 90 years old when he fathered Kenan. 10Enosh lived 815 years after the birth of Kenan, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 11So Enosh’s life lasted 905 years; then he died.
12Kenan was 70 years old when he fathered Mahalalel. 13Kenan lived 840 years after the birth of Mahalalel, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 14So Kenan’s life lasted 910 years; then he died.
15Mahalalel was 65 years old when he fathered Jared. 16Mahalalel lived 830 years after the birth of Jared, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 17So Mahalalel’s life lasted 895 years; then he died.
18Jared was 162 years old when he fathered Enoch. 19Jared lived 800 years after the birth of Enoch, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 20So Jared’s life lasted 962 years; then he died.
21Enoch was 65 years old when he fathered Methuselah. 22And after the birth of Methuselah, Enoch walked with God # Gn 6:9; 17:1; 24:40; 48:15; Mc 6:8; Mal 2:6; 1Th 2:12 300 years and fathered other sons and daughters. 23So Enoch’s life lasted 365 years. 24Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him. # 2Kg 2:11; Heb 11:5
25Methuselah was 187 years old when he fathered Lamech. 26Methuselah lived 782 years after the birth of Lamech, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 27So Methuselah’s life lasted 969 years; then he died.
28Lamech was 182 years old when he fathered a son. 29And he named him Noah, # In Hb, the name Noah sounds like the phrase “bring us relief.” saying, “This one will bring us relief from the agonizing labor of our hands, caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.” # Gn 3:17-19; 4:11 30Lamech lived 595 years after Noah’s birth, and he fathered other sons and daughters. 31So Lamech’s life lasted 777 years; then he died.
32Noah was 500 years old, and he fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Adam’s descendants
1This is the record of Adam’s descendants. On the day God created humanity, he made them to resemble God 2and created them male and female. He blessed them and called them humanity#5.2 Heb adam on the day they were created. 3When Adam was 130 years old, he became the father of a son in his image, resembling him, and named him Seth. 4After Seth’s birth, Adam lived 800 years; he had other sons and daughters. 5In all, Adam lived 930 years, and he died.
6When Seth was 105 years old, he became the father of Enosh. 7After the birth of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 8In all, Seth lived 912 years, and he died.
9When Enosh was 90 years old, he became the father of Kenan. 10After Kenan’s birth, Enosh lived 815 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 11In all, Enosh lived 905 years, and he died.
12When Kenan was 70 years old, he became the father of Mahalalel. 13After the birth of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 14In all, Kenan lived 910 years, and he died.
15When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he became the father of Jared. 16After Jared’s birth, Mahalalel lived 830 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 17In all, Mahalalel lived 895 years, and he died.
18When Jared was 162 years old, he became the father of Enoch. 19After Enoch’s birth, Jared lived 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 20In all, Jared lived 962 years, and he died.
21When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. 22Enoch walked with God. After Methuselah’s birth, Enoch lived 300 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 23In all, Enoch lived 365 years. 24Enoch walked with God and disappeared because God took him.
25When Methuselah was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech. 26After Lamech’s birth, Methuselah lived 782 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 27In all, Methuselah lived 969 years, and he died.
28When Lamech was 182 years old, he became the father of a son 29and named him Noah, saying, “This one will give us relief#5.29 Heb resembles the sound of Noah’s name. from our hard work, from the pain in our hands, because of the fertile land that the LORD cursed.” 30After Noah’s birth, Lamech lived 595 years; and he had other sons and daughters. 31In all, Lamech lived 777 years, and he died.
32When Noah was 500 years old, Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
