8Ham’s sons: Cush, Mizraim, # = Egypt Put, and Canaan.
9Cush’s sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, and Sabteca.
Raama’s sons: Sheba and Dedan.
10Cush fathered Nimrod, who was the first to become a great warrior on earth.
11Mizraim # Gn 10:13-18 fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 12Pathrusim, Casluhim (the Philistines came from them), and Caphtorim. # Dt 2:23; Am 9:7
13Canaan fathered Sidon as his firstborn, then Heth, 14the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, 15Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 16Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.
17Shem’s # Gn 10:21-29 sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.
18Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber. 19Two sons were born to Eber. One of them was named Peleg # = Division because the earth was divided during his lifetime, and the name of his brother was Joktan. 20Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 21Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 22Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, 23Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All of these were Joktan’s sons.
24Shem, # Gn 11:10-26; Lk 3:34-36 Arpachshad, Shelah,
25Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27and Abram (that is, Abraham).
Abraham’s Descendants
28Abraham’s sons: Isaac and Ishmael.
29These # Gn 25:12-16 are their family records: Nebaioth, Ishmael’s firstborn, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
These were Ishmael’s sons.
32The sons # Gn 25:1-4 born to Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
Jokshan’s sons: Sheba and Dedan.
33Midian’s sons: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah.
All of these were Keturah’s sons.
34Abraham # 1Ch 1:28 fathered Isaac.
Isaac’s sons: Esau and Israel. # Gn 25:24-26; 32:28
35Esau’s # Gn 36:4-5,9-14 sons: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
36Eliphaz’s sons: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, and Kenaz; and by Timna, Amalek. # LXX; MT reads and Timna and Amalek ; Gn 36:12
37Reuel’s sons: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
The Edomites
38Seir’s # Gn 36:20-30 sons: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.
39Lotan’s sons: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
40Shobal’s sons: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam.
Zibeon’s sons: Aiah and Anah.
41Anah’s son: Dishon.
Dishon’s sons: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
42Ezer’s sons: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan.
Dishan’s sons: Uz and Aran.
43These # Gn 36:31-39 were the kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor. Bela’s town was named Dinhabah. 44When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah # Is 34:6 ruled in his place. 45When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites # Jb 2:11 ruled in his place. 46When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, ruled in his place. Hadad’s town was named Avith. 47When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah ruled in his place. 48When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates River ruled in his place. 49When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor ruled in his place. 50When Baal-hanan died, Hadad ruled in his place. Hadad’s city was named Pai, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab. 51Then Hadad died.
Edom’s # Gn 36:40-43 chiefs: Timna, Alvah, # Alt Hb tradition reads Aliah Jetheth, 52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magdiel, and Iram.
These were Edom’s chiefs.

17The Bnei Shem: Eilam, and Ashur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and Utz, and Chul, and Geter, and Meshech.
18And Arpachshad fathered Shelach, and Shelach fathered Ever.
19And unto Ever were born two banim; the shem of the one was Peleg because in his days ha'aretz was divided;#1:19 Gn 11:1-9 and his brotherʼs shem was Yoktan.
20And Yoktan fathered Almodad, and Sheleph, and Chatzarmavet, and Yerach,
21Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,
22And Eival, and Avimael, and Sheva,
23And Ophir, and Chavilah, and Yovav. All these were the Bnei Yoktan.
24Shem, Arpachshad, Shelach,
25Ever, Peleg, Reu,
26Serug, Nachor, Terach,
27Avram, the same is Avraham.
28The Bnei Avraham: Yitzchak, and Yishmael.
29These are their toldot; The bechor of Yishmael, Nevayot; then Kedar, Adbe'el, Mivsam,
30Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Chadad, Tema,
31Yetur, Naphish, Kedmah. These are the Bnei Yishmael.
32Now the Bnei Keturah, Avrahamʼs pilegesh; she bore Zimran, Yokshan, Medan, Midyan, Yishbak, and Shuach. And the Bnei Yokshan; Sheva, and Dedan.
33And the Bnei Midyan: Ephah, Epher, Chanokh, Avida, and Eldaah. All these are the Bnei Keturah.
34And Avraham fathered Yitzchak. The Bnei Yitzchak: Esav and Yisroel.
35The Bnei Esav: Eliphaz, Reuel, Ye'ush, Ya'alam, Korach.
36The Bnei Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Tzephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, Amalek.
37The Bnei Reuel: Nachat, Zerach, Shammah, Mizzah.
38And the Bnei Se'ir: Lotan, Shoval, Tziveon, Anah, Dishon, Etzer, and Dishan.
39And the Bnei Lotan: Chori, Homam; Timna was Lotanʼs achot.
40The Bnei Shoval: Alyan, Manachat, Eival, Shephi, Onam. The Bnei Tziveon: Ayah and Anah.
41The Bnei Anah: Dishon. And the Bnei Dishon: Chamran, Eshban, Yitran, and Keran.
42The Bnei Etzer: Bilhan, Za'avan, Ya'akan. The Bnei Dishon: Utz, and Aran.
43Now these are the melachim that reigned in Eretz Edom before any melech reigned over the Bnei Yisroel: Bela Ben Be'or; and the shem of his city was Dinhavah.
44And when Bela was dead, Yovav Ben Zerach of Botzrah reigned in his place.
45And when Yovav was dead, Chusham of Eretz Temani reigned in his place.
46And when Chusham was dead, Hadad Ben Bedad, which defeated Midyan in the sadeh Moav, reigned in his place; and the shem of his city was Avit.
47And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
48And when Samlah was dead, Sha'ul of Rechovot-by-the-river reigned in his place.
49And when Sha'ul was dead, Ba'al-Chanan Ben Achbor reigned in his place.
50And when Ba'al-Chanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his place; and the shem of his city was Pai; and the shem of his isha was Mehetavel Bat Matred Bat Mei-Zahav.
51Hadad died also. And the Allufim of Edom were; Timna, Alvah, Yetet,
52Oholivamah, Elah, Pinon,
53Kenaz, Teman, Mivtzar,
54Magdiel, Iram. These are the Allufim of Edom.
