Psalms 96

Psalm 96
1Sing to the Lord a new song!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
2Sing to the Lord! Praise his name!
Day after day announce that the Lord saves his people.
3Tell people about his glory.
Tell all the nations about his miracles.
4The Lord is great!
He should be highly praised.
He should be feared more than all ⌞other⌟ gods
5because all the gods of the nations are idols.
The Lord made the heavens.
6Splendor and majesty are in his presence.
Strength and beauty are in his holy place.
7Give to the Lord, you families of the nations.
Give to the Lord glory and power.
8Give to the Lord the glory he deserves.
Bring an offering, and come into his courtyards.
9Worship the Lord in ⌞his⌟ holy splendor.
Tremble in his presence, all the earth!
10Say to the nations, “The Lord rules as king!”
The earth stands firm; it cannot be moved.
He will judge people fairly.
11Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad.
Let the sea and everything in it roar like thunder.
12Let the fields and everything in them rejoice.
Then all the trees in the forest will sing joyfully
13in the Lord’s presence because he is coming.
He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness and its people with his truth.

Psalm 96

A Song of Praise
(1 Chronicles 16.23-33)
1O sing unto the Lord a new song:
sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2Sing unto the Lord, bless his name;
show forth his salvation from day to day.
3Declare his glory among the heathen,
his wonders among all people.
4For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised:
he is to be feared above all gods.
5For all the gods of the nations are idols:
but the Lord made the heavens.
6Honor and majesty are before him:
strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Ps 29.1,2. Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people,
give unto the Lord glory and strength.
8Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name:
bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness:
fear before him, all the earth.
10Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth:
the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved:
he shall judge the people righteously.
11Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein:
then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13before the Lord: for he cometh,
for he cometh to judge the earth:
he shall judge the world with righteousness,
and the people with his truth.
