Psalm 95
1Come, let’s sing joyfully to the Lord.
Let’s shout happily to the rock of our salvation.
2Let’s come into his presence with a song of thanksgiving.
Let’s shout happily to him with psalms.
3The Lord is a great God and a great king above all gods.
4In his hand are the deep places of the earth,
and the mountain peaks are his.
5The sea is his.
He made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
6Come, let’s worship and bow down.
Let’s kneel in front of the Lord, our maker,
7because he is our God
and we are the people in his care,
the flock that he leads.
If only you would listen to him today!
8“Do not be stubborn like ⌞my people were⌟ at Meribah,
like the time at Massah in the desert.
9Your ancestors challenged me and tested me there,
although they had seen what I had done.
10For 40 years I was disgusted with those people.
So I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts continue to stray.
They have not learned my ways.’
11That is why I angrily took this solemn oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest!’ ”

Psalms 95
95
1Come, let's sing for joy to the Lord! Let's shout in triumph to the rock of our salvation!
2Let's go before him with thanksgiving! Let's sing loudly to him in celebration!
3For the Lord is a great God, a great king above all gods.
4He rules over the depths of the earth and the heights of the mountains.
5The sea is his, because he made it; the dry land, because he formed it.
6Come, let's enter in#95:6. Speaking of entering into the Temple to worship. and worship, let's kneel before the Lord our Creator.
7For he is our God, and we are the people he looks after like a shepherd, the flock he cares for. If you hear his voice calling you today,
8don't have a hard-hearted attitude,#95:8. “Have a hard-hearted attitude”: literally, “do not harden your hearts.” “as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,
9when your forefathers provoked me, testing my patience, even though they had seen everything I'd done.
10For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, and I said, ‘They are people who are unfaithful to me in their minds, and they refuse to accept my ways.’
11So in my frustration I vowed, ‘They will certainly not enter my rest.’”#95:11. “My rest,” referring to the Promised Land.
