Psalm 7
A shiggaion #7:0 Unknown musical term. by David; he sang it to the Lord about the ⌞slanderous⌟ words of Cush, a descendant of Benjamin.
1O Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you.
Save me, and rescue me from all who are pursuing me.
2Like a lion they will tear me to pieces
and drag me off with no one to rescue me.
3O Lord my God,
if I have done this—
if my hands are stained with injustice,
4if I have paid back my friend with evil
or rescued someone who has no reason to attack me—
5then let the enemy chase me and catch me.
Let him trample my life into the ground.
Let him lay my honor in the dust. Selah
6Arise in anger, O Lord.
Stand up against the fury of my attackers.
Wake up, my God.#7:6 Greek; Masoretic Text “Wake up to me.”
You have already pronounced judgment.
7Let an assembly of people gather around you.
Take your seat high above them.
8The Lord judges the people of the world.
Judge me, O Lord,
according to my righteousness,
according to my integrity.
9Let the evil within wicked people come to an end,
but make the righteous person secure,
O righteous God who examines thoughts and emotions.
10My shield is God above,
who saves those whose motives are decent.
11God is a fair judge,
a God who is angered by injustice every day.
12If a person does not change, God sharpens his sword.
By bending his bow, he makes it ready ⌞to shoot⌟.
13He prepares his deadly weapons
and turns them into flaming arrows.
14See how that person conceives evil,
is pregnant with harm,
and gives birth to lies.
15He digs a pit and shovels it out.
Then he falls into the hole that he made ⌞for others⌟.
16His mischief lands back on his own head.
His violence comes down on top of him.
17I will give thanks to the Lord for his righteousness.
I will make music to praise the name of the Lord Most High.

A Prayer for Vindication
Shiggai´on of David, which he sang unto the Lord, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite.
1O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust:
save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
2lest he tear my soul like a lion,
rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3O Lord my God, if I have done this;
if there be iniquity in my hands;
4if I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me;
(yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy;)
5let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it;
yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth,
and lay mine honor in the dust. Selah.
6Arise, O Lord, in thine anger,
lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies:
and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
7So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about:
for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
8The Lord shall judge the people:
judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness,
and according to mine integrity that is in me.

Rev 2.23. Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end;
but establish the just:
for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
10My defense is of God,
which saveth the upright in heart.
11God judgeth the righteous,
and God is angry with the wicked every day.
12If he turn not, he will whet his sword;
he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
13He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death;
he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
14Behold, he travaileth with iniquity,
and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
15He made a pit, and digged it,
and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
16His mischief shall return upon his own head,
and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
17I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness:
and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.
