Psalm 41
41
O Lord, Be Gracious to Me
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
1 #
Prov. 14:21 Blessed is the one who considers the poor!#41:1 Or weak
#
Ps. 37:19
In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;
2the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you #Ps. 27:12do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness you restore him to full health.#41:3 Hebrew you turn all his bed
4As for me, I said, “O Lord, #Ps. 4:1 be gracious to me;
#
Ps. 6:2; 147:3; 2 Chr. 30:20 heal me,#41:4 Hebrew my soul for I have sinned against you!”
5My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die, and his name perish?”
6And when one comes to see me, #Ps. 12:2; 144:8he utters empty words,
while his heart gathers iniquity;
when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.#41:7 Or they devise evil against me
8They say, “A deadly thing is poured out#41:8 Or has fastened on him;
he will not rise again from where he lies.”
9Even my #Ps. 55:12, 13, 20; Job 19:13, 14, 19; Jer. 9:4; 20:10; Mic. 7:5; [2 Sam. 15:12] close friend in whom I trusted,
who #Cited John 13:18ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
10But you, O Lord, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them!
11By this I know that #[2 Sam. 15:25, 26]you delight in me:
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.
12But #Ps. 63:8 you have upheld me because of #Ps. 26:1 my integrity,
and #Job 36:7 set me in your presence #Ps. 23:6forever.

Luke 1:68; [Ps. 72:18, 19; 89:52; 106:48; 150:6] Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.

Psalm 41
41
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1Blessed is he that considereth the poor:
The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
2The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth:
And thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing:
Thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
4I said, LORD, be merciful unto me:
Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5Mine enemies speak evil of me,
When shall he die, and his name perish?
6And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity:
His heart gathereth iniquity to itself; When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7All that hate me whisper together against me:
Against me do they devise my hurt.
8An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him:
And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,
Which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
10But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me,
And raise me up, that I may requite them.
11By this I know that thou favourest me,
Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity,
And settest me before thy face for ever.
13Blessed be the LORD God of Israel
From everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
