Psalm 33
33
The Steadfast Love of the Lord
1 # [Ps. 32:11] Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
#
Ps. 147:1
Praise befits the upright.
2Give thanks to the Lord with the #Ps. 71:22 lyre;
make melody to him with #Ps. 71:22 the harp of #Ps. 144:9ten strings!
3Sing to him #Ps. 40:3; 96:1; Isa. 42:10a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
4For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in #Ps. 119:75faithfulness.
5He #Ps. 11:7; 36:5, 6; 45:7; 89:14 loves righteousness and justice;
#
Ps. 119:64
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
6By #Gen. 1:6, 7; Heb. 11:3; 2 Pet. 3:5; [John 1:3] the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by #[Job 26:13; Isa. 11:4] the breath of his mouth all #Gen. 2:1their host.
7He gathers the waters of the sea as #Ps. 78:13; Ex. 15:8; Josh. 3:13, 16 a heap;
he #See Job 38:8puts the deeps in storehouses.
8Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9For #Ps. 148:5, 6; Gen. 1:3; [Ps. 147:15, 18]he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
10The Lord #Isa. 19:3; Luke 1:51; [2 Sam. 15:34; 17:14; Neh. 4:15; Job 5:12; Isa. 8:10]brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11 #
Prov. 19:21; Isa. 46:10 The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of his heart to all generations.
12 #
Ps. 144:15; Deut. 33:29 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has #Ps. 65:4; Deut. 7:6; [Ex. 19:5]chosen as his heritage!
13The Lord #Job 28:24; See Ps. 11:4looks down from heaven;
he sees all the children of man;
14from #1 Kgs. 8:39, 43, 49 where he sits enthroned he #[Prov. 15:3; Jer. 32:19]looks out
on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15he who fashions the hearts of them all
and observes all their deeds.
16 # [Ps. 44:6] The king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17 #
Ps. 20:7; 147:10; Prov. 21:31; Hos. 1:7 The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
and by its great might it cannot rescue.
18Behold, #Ps. 34:15; Job 36:7; 1 Pet. 3:12 the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
#
Ps. 147:11
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
19that he may #[Acts 12:11] deliver their soul from death
and keep them alive in #Ps. 37:19; Job 5:20famine.
20Our soul #Ps. 62:1, 5; 130:6; Isa. 8:17 waits for the Lord;
he is our #Ps. 115:9-11 help and #See Ps. 3:3our shield.
21For our heart is #Zech. 10:7; See Ps. 9:14 glad in him,
because we #See Ps. 11:1trust in his holy name.
22Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.

Psalm 33
33
1 To David, when he changed his appearance in the sight of Abimelech, and so he dismissed him, and he went away.
2 I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will be ever in my mouth.
3 In the Lord, my soul will be praised. May the meek listen and rejoice.
4 Magnify the Lord with me, and let us extol his name in itself.
5 I sought the Lord, and he heeded me, and he carried me away from all my tribulations.
6 Approach him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be confounded.
7 This poor one cried out, and the Lord heeded him, and he saved him from all his tribulations.
8 The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him, and he will rescue them.
9 Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.
10 Fear the Lord, all you his saints. For there is no destitution for those who fear him.
11 The rich have been needy and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good thing.
12 Come forward, sons. Listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
13 Which is the man who wills life, who chooses to see good days?
14 Prohibit your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.
15 Turn away from evil, and do good. Inquire about peace, and pursue it.
16 The eyes of the Lord are on the just, and his ears are with their prayers.
17 But the countenance of the Lord is upon those who do evil, to perish the remembrance of them from the earth.
18 The just cried out, and the Lord heard them, and he freed them from all their tribulations.
19 The Lord is near to those who are troubled in heart, and he will save the humble in spirit.
20 Many are the afflictions of the just, but from them all the Lord will free them.
21 The Lord preserves all of their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
22 The death of a sinner is very harmful, and those who hate the just will fare badly.
23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants, and none of those who hope in him will fare badly.
