Psalm 149
149
Sing to the Lord a New Song
1 # [See Ps. 148:14 above] Praise the Lord!
Sing to the Lord #See Ps. 33:3 a new song,
his praise in #Ps. 89:5, 7the assembly of the godly!
2Let Israel #Ps. 85:6 be glad in #See Ps. 95:6; Job 35:10 his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their #1 Sam. 12:12; Zech. 9:9King!
3Let them praise his name with #Ps. 150:4; [Ps. 30:11] dancing,
making melody to him with #Ps. 150:4; Ex. 15:20 tambourine and #Ps. 150:3lyre!
4For the Lord #Ps. 35:27; 147:11 takes pleasure in his people;
he #[Isa. 61:3]adorns the humble with salvation.
5Let the godly exult in glory;
let them #See Job 35:10 sing for joy on their #Ps. 4:4; 63:6; [Hos. 7:14]beds.
6Let #[Ps. 66:17] the high praises of God be in their throats
and #Heb. 4:12; Rev. 1:16; 2:12; [Prov. 5:4]two-edged swords in their hands,
7to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
8to bind their kings with #[Job 36:8]chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9to execute on them the judgment #Isa. 65:6; [Job 13:26] written!
# [Ps. 148:14] This is honor for all his godly ones.
# [See Ps. 148:14 above] Praise the Lord!

Psalms 149
149
1Praise the Lord! Sing a new song to the Lord! Praise him wherever his faithful followers gather!
2Let Israel celebrate their Creator; let the people of Zion be happy in their King.
3Praise his nature with dancing; sing praises to him, accompanied by tambourine and harp.
4For the Lord enjoys his people; he honors the oppressed with salvation.
5Let the faithful celebrate how he honors them; let them sing happily even from their beds.
6May their praises of God always be on their lips, a double-edged sword in their hands,
7ready to take revenge on the nations, to punish the foreign peoples,
8to imprison their kings in shackles and their leaders in iron chains,
9to impose the judgment decreed against them. This is an honor for all his faithful followers. Praise the Lord!
