1 Kgs. 22:50
Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place. 2He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of #[ch. 24:5]Israel.#21:2 That is, Judah 3Their father gave them great gifts of silver, gold, and valuable possessions, together with #See ch. 11:5fortified cities in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, because he was the firstborn. 4When Jehoram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of #[See ver. 2 above]Israel. 5#For ver. 5-10, see 2 Kgs. 8:17-22 Jehoram was #[ver. 20]thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 6#See 1 Kgs. 12:28-30; 16:31-33 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done, for #ch. 18:1; 2 Kgs. 8:18the daughter of Ahab was his wife. And he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. 7Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and since he had promised to give #See 1 Kgs. 11:36; [2 Sam. 21:17]a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

At that time Libnah also revolted from his rule, because he had forsaken the Lord, the God of his fathers.
11Moreover, he made high places in the hill country of Judah and led the inhabitants of Jerusalem #Ex. 34:16; Lev. 17:7; 20:5into whoredom and made Judah go astray. 12And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, “Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father, #ch. 17:3 ‘Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or #ch. 14:2-5in the ways of Asa king of Judah, 13#[See ver. 6 above] but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel and have enticed Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem #[See ver. 11 above] into whoredom, #See 1 Kgs. 16:31-33 as the house of Ahab led Israel into whoredom, and also you #ver. 4have killed your brothers, of your father’s house, who were better than you, 14behold, the Lord will bring a great plague on your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions, 15and you yourself will have a severe sickness #ver. 18, 19with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out because of the disease, day by day.’”
16 # [1 Kgs. 11:14, 23] And the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the anger#21:16 Hebrew spirit of the Philistines and of #ch. 17:11; 22:1; 26:7the Arabians who are near the Ethiopians. 17And they came up against Judah and invaded it and carried away all the possessions they found that belonged to the king’s house, and also his sons and his wives, so that no son was left to him except #ch. 25:23; [ch. 22:6]Jehoahaz, his youngest son.
18And after all this the Lord struck him #ver. 15in his bowels with an incurable disease. 19In the course of time, at the end of two years, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great agony. And he departed #[Jer. 22:18] with no one’s regret. #[ch. 24:25; 28:27]They buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

Diḇre haYamim Bĕt (2 Chronicles) 21
21
1And Yehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of Dawiḏ. And Yehoram his son reigned in his place.
2And he had brothers, the sons of Yehoshaphat: Azaryahu, and Yeḥi’ĕl, and Zeḵaryahu, and Azaryahu, and Miḵa’ĕl, and Shephatyahu. All these were sons of Yehoshaphat sovereign of Yisra’ĕl.
3And their father gave them many gifts of silver and gold and precious items, with walled cities in Yehuḏah, but he had given the reign to Yehoram because he was the first-born.
4And when Yehoram had risen up over the reign of his father and strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also others of the heads of Yisra’ĕl.
5Yehoram was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim.
6And he walked in the way of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕl, as the house of Aḥaḇ had done, for he had the daughter of Aḥaḇ as a wife. And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה.
7However, יהוה would not destroy the house of Dawiḏ, because of the covenant He had made with Dawiḏ, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons, all the days.
8In his days the Eḏomites revolted from under the hand of Yehuḏah, and appointed a sovereign over themselves.
9Then Yehoram went out with his officers, and all his chariots with him. And it came to be that he rose by night and struck the Eḏomites who had surrounded him and the commanders of the chariots.
10Thus the Eḏomites revolted from under the hand of Yehuḏah to this day. Then Liḇnah revolted from under his hand, because he had forsaken יהוה Elohim of his fathers.
11He had also made high places in the mountains of Yehuḏah, and caused the inhabitants of Yerushalayim to commit whoring, and led Yehuḏah astray.
12And a letter came to him from Ěliyahu the prophet, saying, Thus said יהוה Elohim of your father Dawiḏ, “Because you have not walked in the ways of Yehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa sovereign of Yehuḏah,
13but have walked in the way of the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕl, and have made Yehuḏah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim to commit whoring like the whorings of the house of Aḥaḇ, and also have killed your brothers, those of your father’s household, who were better than yourself,
14see, יהוה is going to strike with a great blow among your people, your children, your wives, and all your possessions,
15and you, with many sicknesses, with disease of your intestines, until your intestines come out because of the sickness, day by day.”
16And יהוה stirred up the spirit of the Philistines against Yehoram, and of the Araḇians who were near the Kushites.
17And they came up into Yehuḏah and broke into it, and captured all the possessions that were found in the sovereign’s house, and also his sons and his wives, so that there was not a son left to him except Yeho’aḥaz, the youngest of his sons.
18And after all this יהוה plagued him in his intestines with a disease for which there was no healing.
19And it came to be in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his intestines came out because of his sickness, and he died in great pain. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning for his fathers.
20He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Yerushalayim, to no one’s regret, and passed away. And they buried him in the City of Dawiḏ, but not in the burial-sites of the sovereigns.
