Psalms 131
131
A Prayer of Humble Trust#Ps 131 Hebrew title: By David.
1 LORD, I have given up my pride
and turned away from my arrogance.
I am not concerned with great matters
or with subjects too difficult for me.
2Instead, I am content and at peace.
As a child lies quietly in its mother's arms,
so my heart is quiet within me.
3Israel, trust in the LORD
now and for ever!

Psalms 131

Calm Trust in Yahweh
A song of ascents. Of David.#The Hebrew Bible counts the superscription as the first verse of the psalm
1My heart is not haughty nor my eyes arrogant.#Literally “raised”
And I do not concern myself#Literally “walk about”
with things too great and difficult for me.
2Rather I have soothed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother,
like the weaned child is my soul with me.
3O Israel, hope in Yahweh
from now until forever.
