Psalms 43
43
1Defend me, God.
Argue my case against those people who don’t know you.
Protect me from those evil liars.
2God, you are my place of safety.
Why have you turned me away?
Why must I suffer this sadness
that my enemies have brought me?
3Send your light and your truth to guide me,
to lead me to your holy mountain, to your home.
4I want to go to God’s altar,
to the God who makes me so very happy.
God, my God, I want to play my harp
and sing praises to you!
5Why am I so sad?
Why am I so upset?
I tell myself, “Wait for God’s help!
You will again have a chance to praise him,
your God, the one who will save you.”

Psalms 43

Prayer to God in Time of Trouble
1Vindicate #(Ps. 26:1; 35:24)me, O God,
And #1 Sam. 24:15; Ps. 35:1plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!
2For You are the God of my strength;
Why do You cast me off?
#Ps. 42:9Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3#(Ps. 40:11)Oh, send out Your light and Your truth!
Let them lead me;
Let them bring me to #Ps. 3:4Your holy hill
And to Your tabernacle.
4Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And on the harp I will praise You,
O God, my God.
5#Ps. 42:5, 11Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
