Ḥazon (Revelation) 21
21
1And I saw a renewed heaven and a renewed earth,#Isa. 65:17#See also Isa. 66:22 for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more.
2And I, Yoḥanan, saw the set-apart city, renewed Yerushalayim, coming down out of the heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a loud voice from the heaven saying, “See, the Booth of Elohim is with men, and He shall dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and Elohim Himself shall be with them and be their Elohim.#Lev. 26:11, 12#See also Isa. 7:14; Isa. 8:8; Isa. 8:10; Jer. 31:33; Ezek. 37:27; 2Ch. 6:18
4“And Elohim shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying. And there shall be no more pain, for the former matters have passed away.”
5And He who was sitting on the throne said, “See, I make all matters new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and trustworthy.”
6And He said to me, “It is done! I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I shall give of the fountain of the water of life without payment.
7“The one who overcomes shall inherit all this, and I shall be his Elohim and he shall be My son.
8“But as for the cowardly, and untrustworthy, and abominable, and murderers, and those who whore, and drug sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the false, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”
9And one of the seven messengers who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and spoke with me, saying, “Come, I shall show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the set-apart Yerushalayim, descending out of the heaven from Elohim,
11having the esteem of Elohim, and her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal,
12and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl:#See Ezek. 47:22, 23; Ezek. 48:31-34
13three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve emissaries of the Lamb.
15And he who spoke with me had a golden measuring rod, to measure the city, and its gates, and its wall.
16And the city lies four-cornered, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the rod: twelve thousand stadia#Approx. 2216 kilometres or 1377 miles. – the length, and the breadth, and height of it are equal.
17And he measured its wall: hundred and forty-four forearms,#Approx. 66 metres or 216 feet. according to the measure of a man, that is, of a messenger.
18And the structure of its wall was jasper. And the city was clean gold, like clear glass.
19And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
20the fifth sardonyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls – each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was clean gold, like transparent glass.
22And I saw no Dwelling Place in it, for יהוה Ěl Shaddai is its Dwelling Place, and the Lamb.
23And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, for the esteem of Elohim lightened it, and the Lamb is its lamp.
24And the nations, of those who are saved, shall walk in its light,#See Isa. 60:3 and the sovereigns of the earth bring their esteem into it.
25And its gates shall not be shut at all by day, for night shall not be there.
26And they shall bring the esteem and the appreciation of the nations into it.
27And there shall by no means enter into it whatever is unclean, neither anyone doing abomination and falsehood,#See Rev. 22:15 and 2Thes. 2:11 but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.#Dan. 12:1

Revelation 21
21
1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more. 2I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. 3I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
5 He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.” 6He said to me, “I am the Alef and the Tav, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son. 8But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners,#21:8 TR and NU omit “sinners” abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,#21:8 The word for “sorcerers” here also includes users of potions and drugs. idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12having a great and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel. 13On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Emissaries of the Lamb.
15 He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. 16The city is square. Its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand and twelve stadia.#21:16 12,012 stadia = 2,221 kilometres or 1,380 miles. TR reads 12,000 stadia instead of 12,012 stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal. 17Its wall is one hundred and forty-four cubits,#21:17 144 cubits is about 65.8 metres or 216 feet by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass. 19The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire;#21:19 or, lapis lazuli the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb. 24The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. 25Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there), 26and they shall bring the glory and the honour of the nations into it so that they may enter. 27There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
