Ḥazon (Revelation) 1
1
1Revelation of יהושע Messiah, which Elohim gave Him to show His servants what has to take place with speed. And He signified it by sending His messenger to His servant Yoḥanan,
2who bore witness to the Word of Elohim, and the witness of יהושע Messiah – to all he saw.
3Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and guard what is written in it, for the time is near.
4Yoḥanan, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Favour to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming, and from the seven Spirits that are before His throne,
5and from יהושע Messiah, the trustworthy witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the sovereigns of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
6and has made us sovereigns and priests to His Elohim and Father, to Him be esteem and rule forever and ever. Amĕn.
7See, He is coming with the clouds,#Dan. 7:13 and every eye shall see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth shall mourn because of Him.#Zech. 12:10 Yes, Amĕn.
8“I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, Beginning and End,” says יהוה “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
9I, Yoḥanan, both your brother and co-sharer in pressure, and in the reign and endurance of יהושע Messiah, came to be on the island that is called Patmos for the Word of Elohim and for the witness of יהושע Messiah.
10I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of יהוה,#See also Isa. 13:6; Isa. 13:9; Ezek. 13:5; Joel 1:15; Joel 2:1; Joel 2:11; Joel 2:31; Joel 3:14; Amos 5:16-20; Obad. 1:15; Zep. 1:7; Zep. 1:14; Mal. 4:5; Acts 2:20; 1Thes. 5:2; 2Thes. 2:2; 2Pe. 3:10 and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
11saying, “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the First and the Last,” and, “Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven assemblies of Asia – to Ephesos, and to Smurna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodikeia.”
12And I turned to see the voice which spoke with me. And having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands,#Zech. 4:2
13and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Aḏam,#Dan. 7:13 dressed in a robe down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.#Dan. 10:5
14And His head and hair were white as white wool, as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire,
15and His feet like burnished brass,#Dan. 10:6 as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters.#Eze. 1:24; Eze. 43:2
16And in His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword,#See Rev. 2:16; Isa. 49:2; Heb. 4:12 and His face was as the sun shining in its strength.
17And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead, and He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid, I am the First and the Last,#Isa. 44:6; Isa. 48:12
18and the living One. And I became dead, and see, I am living forever and ever. Amĕn. And I possess the keys of She’ol#See Explanatory Notes "She’ol". and of Death.
19“Write therefore what you have seen, both what is now and what shall take place after these:
20“The secret of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are messengers of the seven assemblies, and the seven lampstands which you saw are seven assemblies.

Revelation 1
1
1This book is the record of the events that Jesus Christ revealed. God gave him this revelation in order to show his servants what must happen very soon. Christ made these things known to his servant John by sending his angel to him, 2and John has told all that he has seen. This is his report concerning the message from God and the truth revealed by Jesus Christ. 3Happy is the one who reads this book, and happy are those who listen to the words of this prophetic message and obey what is written in this book! For the time is near when all these things will happen.
Greetings to the Seven Churches

A Vision of Christ
9I am John, your brother, and as a follower of Jesus I am your partner in patiently enduring the suffering that comes to those who belong to his Kingdom. I was put on the island of Patmos because I had proclaimed God's word and the truth that Jesus revealed. 10On the Lord's day the Spirit took control of me, and I heard a loud voice, that sounded like a trumpet, speaking behind me. 11It said, “Write down what you see, and send the book to the churches in these seven cities: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”
12I turned round to see who was talking to me, and I saw seven gold lampstands, 13#Dan 7.13; 10.5and among them there was what looked like a human being, wearing a robe that reached to his feet, and a gold belt round his chest. 14#Dan 7.9; 10.6His hair was white as wool, or as snow, and his eyes blazed like fire; 15#Ezek 1.24; 43.2his feet shone like brass that has been refined and polished, and his voice sounded like a roaring waterfall. 16He held seven stars in his right-hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came out of his mouth. His face was as bright as the midday sun. 17#Is 44.6; 48.12; Rev 2.8; 22.13When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. He placed his right-hand on me and said, “Don't be afraid! I am the first and the last. 18I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive for ever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead. 19Write, then, the things you see, both the things that are now and the things that will happen afterwards. 20This is the secret meaning of the seven stars that you see in my right-hand, and of the seven gold lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
