Tas`loniqim Bĕt (2 Thessalonians) 2
2
1As to the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, brothers,
2not to become easily unsettled in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as if the day of יהוה has come.
3Let no one deceive you in any way, because the falling away is to come first, and the man of lawlessness#See Dan. 11:36-39 is to be revealed, the son of destruction,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshipped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim.
5Do you not remember that I told you this while I was still with you?
6And now you know what restrains, for him to be revealed in his time.
7For the secret of lawlessness is already at work – only until he who now restrains comes out of the midst.
8And then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Master shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth# Isa. 11:4 and bring to naught with the manifestation of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood,
10and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved.
11And for this reason Elohim sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood,#See also John 9:39; John 12:40; Acts 7:42; Rom. 1:24-28
12in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.
13But we ought to give thanks to Elohim always for you, brothers, beloved by the Master, because Elohim from the beginning chose you to be saved – in set-apartness of Spirit, and belief in the truth#See Eph. 1:4
14unto which He called you by our Good News, for the obtaining of the esteem of our Master יהושע Messiah.
15So, then, brothers, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or by our letter.
16And our Master יהושע Messiah Himself, and our Elohim and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good expectation, through favour,
17encourage your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

The Man of Lawlessness
1#Mk 13:27; Mt 24:31Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and concerning our gathering together unto Him, we ask you 2#Mk 13:7; 1Co 1:8not to let your mind be quickly shaken or be troubled, neither in spirit nor by word, nor by letter coming as though from us, as if the day of Christ is already here. 3#Da 7:25; Jn 17:12Do not let anyone deceive you in any way. For that Day will not come unless a falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, 4#Eze 28:2; 1Co 8:5who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as God.
5Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? 6Now you know what restrains him that he might be revealed in his time. 7#Rev 17:5; 17:7For the mystery of lawlessness is already working. Only He who is now restraining him will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8#Isa 11:4; 2Th 2:3Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth, and destroy with the brightness of His presence, 9#Mt 24:24; Rev 18:23even him, whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan with all power and signs and false wonders, 10#1Co 1:18and with all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the love for the truth that they might be saved. 11#Ro 1:28; Eze 14:9Therefore God will send them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie: 12#Ro 1:32; 2:8that they all might be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Chosen for Salvation
13#1Th 1:4; 2Th 1:3But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, beloved brothers of the Lord, because God has from the beginning called you to salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief of the truth. 14#1Th 2:12; 1:5To this He called you by our gospel, to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15#1Co 11:2; 16:13; 2Th 2:2Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold the traditions which you have been taught, whether by word or by our letter.
16#Jn 3:16; 1Th 3:11Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, who has loved us and has given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace, 17#2Th 3:3; 1Th 3:2comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.
