Leading and volunteering in a nonprofit ministry is not devoid of difficulty, but God yet calls us to serve with joy, perseverance, and love. This devotional explores overcoming barriers that hinder service, the importance of working with diverse groups of people, and embracing differences and challenges to foster unity in Christ. It also encourages volunteers to shift their focus from frustration to gratitude, trusting that God is working through every circumstance. ​We all have names we carry around with us. Some of them are wonderful: Friend or Loved One. We wear those names with pride. Other names, not so much. We’ve embraced names like: Not Enough, Unqualified, Damaged, Depressed, and Overwhelmed. We can trade in the names that have haunted us and held us back. Let's declare: My Name is Victorious!

The Bible begins with, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty.” But clearly, that was not a problem for God. He merely spoke and the emptiness was filled with life, beauty, and purpose. This gives us hope that God will do his best work in the emptiness of our own lives. Let’s pray and ask him to fill up our emptiness.
