Mark 16

Jesus is alive
Jesus is alive
(Matthew 28.1-8; Luke 24.1-12; John 20.1-10)
1After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Salome, and Mary the mother of James bought some spices to put on Jesus' body. 2Very early on Sunday morning, just as the sun was coming up, they went to the tomb. 3On their way, they were asking one another, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance for us?” 4But when they looked, they saw that the stone had already been rolled away. And it was a huge stone!
5The women went into the tomb, and on the right side they saw a young man in a white robe sitting there. They were alarmed.
6The man said, “Don't be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus from Nazareth, who was nailed to a cross. God has raised him to life, and he isn't here. You can see the place where they put his body. 7Now go and tell his disciples, and especially Peter, that he will go ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.”#Mt 26.32; Mk 14.28.
8When the women ran from the tomb, they were confused and shaking all over. They were too afraid to tell anyone what had happened.
One old ending to Mark's Gospel#16.9 One old ending to Mark's Gospel: Verses 9-20 are not in some manuscripts.
Jesus appears to his followers
Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene
(Matthew 28.9,10; John 20.11-18)
9Very early on the first day of the week, after Jesus had risen to life, he appeared to Mary Magdalene. Earlier he had forced seven demons out of her. 10She left and told his friends, who were crying and mourning. 11Even though they heard that Jesus was alive and that Mary had seen him, they would not believe it.
Jesus appears to two disciples
(Luke 24.13-35)
12Later, Jesus appeared in another form to two disciples, as they were on their way out of the city. 13But when these disciples told what had happened, the others would not believe.
What Jesus' followers must do
(Matthew 28.16-20; Luke 24.36-49; John 20.19-23; Acts 1.6-8)
14Afterwards, Jesus appeared to his eleven disciples as they were eating. He scolded them because they were too stubborn to believe the ones who had seen him after he had been raised to life. 15Then he told them:#Ac 1.8.
Go and preach the good news to everyone in the world. 16Anyone who believes me and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe me will be condemned. 17Everyone who believes me will be able to do wonderful things. By using my name they will force out demons, and they will speak new languages. 18They will handle snakes and will drink poison and not be hurt. They will also heal sick people by placing their hands on them.
Jesus returns to heaven
(Luke 24.50-53; Acts 1.9-11)
19After the Lord Jesus had said these things to the disciples, he was taken back up to heaven where he sat down at the right side#16.19 right side: See the note at 12.36. of God.#Ac 1.9-11. 20Then the disciples left and preached everywhere. The Lord was with them, and the miracles they performed proved that their message was true.
Another old ending to Mark's gospel#16.9,10 Another old ending to Mark's Gospel: Some manuscripts and early translations have both this shorter ending and the longer one (verses 9-20).
9-10The women quickly told Peter and his friends what had happened. Later, Jesus sent the disciples to the east and to the west with his sacred and everlasting message of how people can be saved for ever.

Marqos (Mark) 16
16
1And when the Sabbath was past, Miryam from Maḡdala, and Miryam the mother of Ya‛aqoḇ, and Shelomah bought spices, to go and anoint Him.
2And very early on day one of the week,#Greek one of the sabbaths. See Explanatory Notes "First day of the week” and Mat. 28:1 they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
3And they said among themselves, “Who shall roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?”
4And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large.
5And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a white robe, and they were greatly astonished.
6And he said to them, “Do not be much astonished. You seek יהושע of Natsareth, who was impaled. He was raised – He is not here! See the place where they laid Him.
7And go, say to His taught ones, and Kĕpha, that He is going before you into Galil. You shall see Him there as He said to you.
8And they went out and fled from the tomb, and were trembling and bewildered. And they spoke to no one, for they were afraid.
9And having risen early on the first day of the week#Gk. first of a sabbath. He appeared first to Miryam from Maḡdala, from whom He had cast out seven demons.#Some manuscripts omit vv. 9-20; Textus Receptus includes them.
10She went and reported to those who had been with Him, mourning and weeping.
11And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
12And after this He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into a field.
13And they went and reported it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
14Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table. And He reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He was raised.
15And He said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the Good News to every creature.
16“He who has believed and has been immersed, shall be saved, but he who has not believed shall be condemned.
17“And these signs shall accompany the ones who believe: In My Name they shall cast out demons, they shall speak with renewed tongues,
18they shall take up snakes, and if they drink any deadly drink it shall by no means hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall get well.”
19Then indeed, after the Master had spoken to them, He was received up into the heaven, and sat down at the right hand of Elohim.# Psa. 110:1
20And they went out and proclaimed it everywhere, while the Master worked with them, and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs. Amĕn.
