The people born into Adam’s family
1This is the story about Adam’s family. You see, when God made people, he made them to be like himself. 2And he made them men and women, and he called them human beings, and he was good to them.#Genesis 1:27-28; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6
3Adam lived a long time. He was 130 years old when he had his son called Seth. He was a human being, just like Adam, his father. 4After Seth was born, Adam lived for another 800 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 5He died when he was 930 years old.
6Seth lived a long time too. He was 105 years old when he had a son called Enosh. 7Then Seth lived for another 807 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 8He died when he was 912 years old.
9Enosh lived a long time too. He was 90 years old when he had a son called Kenan. 10Then Enosh lived for another 815 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 11He died when he was 905 years old.
12Kenan lived a long time too. He was 70 years old when he had a son called Mahalalel. 13Then Kenan lived for another 840 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 14He died when he was 910 years old.
15Mahalalel lived a long time too. He was 65 years old when he had a son called Jared. 16Then Mahalalel lived for another 830 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 17He died when he was 895 years old.
18Jared lived a long time too. He was 162 years old when he had a son called Enok. 19Then Jared lived for another 800 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 20He died when he was 962 years old.
21Enok lived a long time too. He was 65 years old when he had a son called Methuselah. 22-24Then Enok lived for another 300 years after Methuselah was born, and he had more sons and daughters.
Enok was always God’s friend, and he spent a lot of time with God. One day, when he was 365 years old, he wasn’t here on the earth any more. Nobody could find him anywhere. You see, he didn’t die, but God took him straight up to heaven.#Hebrews 11:5; Jude 1:14
25Methuselah lived a long time too. He was 187 years old when he had a son called Lamek. 26Then Methuselah lived for another 782 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 27He died when he was 969 years old.
28Lamek lived a long time too. He was 182 years old when he had a son. 29He named his son Noah. That name means help people be happy. Lamek said, “God cursed the ground, so we have to work really hard to dig the ground, but Noah will help us be happy, even though we have to work really hard.” 30Then Lamek lived for another 595 years, and he had more sons and daughters. 31He died when he was 777 years old.
32Noah lived a long time too. After he was 500 years old, he had 3 sons. They were called Shem, and Ham, and Jafeth.

Gen 1.27. This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. 2Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created. 3When Adam had lived a hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. 4The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years; and he had other sons and daughters. 5Thus all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
6When Seth had lived a hundred and five years, he became the father of Enosh. 7Seth lived after the birth of Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and had other sons and daughters. 8Thus all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.
9When Enosh had lived ninety years, he became the father of Kenan. 10Enosh lived after the birth of Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years, and had other sons and daughters. 11Thus all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.
12When Kenan had lived seventy years, he became the father of Ma-halalel. 13Kenan lived after the birth of Ma-halalel eight hundred and forty years, and had other sons and daughters. 14Thus all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.
15When Ma-halalel had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Jared. 16Ma-halalel lived after the birth of Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and had other sons and daughters. 17Thus all the days of Ma-halalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.
18When Jared had lived a hundred and sixty-two years he became the father of Enoch. 19Jared lived after the birth of Enoch eight hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. 20Thus all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.
21When Enoch had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22Enoch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah three hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. 23Thus all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24#Heb 11.5. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
25When Methuselah had lived a hundred and eighty-seven years, he became the father of Lamech. 26Methuselah lived after the birth of Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had other sons and daughters. 27Thus all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.
28When Lamech had lived a hundred and eighty-two years, he became the father of a son, 29and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground which the Lord has cursed this one shall bring us relief from our work and from the toil of our hands.” 30Lamech lived after the birth of Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and had other sons and daughters. 31Thus all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.
32After Noah was five hundred years old, Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
