Numbers 13
13
1And the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) spoke unto Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters], saying,
2Send youi men, that they may search the land of Kena’an [Merchant], which I give unto the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God]: of every tribe of their fathers shall you2f send a man, everyone a ruler among them.
3And Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters] by the commandment of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) sent them from the wilderness of Pa’ran [place of caverns]: all those men [were] heads of the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God].
4And these [were] their names: of the tribe of Re’uven [Behold a Son], Shamua [Renowned] the son of Zakur [Mindful].
5Of the tribe of Shim’on [he who hears], Shafat [He Has Judged] the son of Hori [Cave Dweller].
6Of the tribe of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised], Kalev [Dog] the son of Y’funeh [He Will Face].
7Of the tribe of Yissakhar [There Is Recompense], Yig’al [He Redeems] the son of Yosef [(God) He Shall Add].
8Of the tribe of Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful], Hoshea [salvation] the son of Nun [Posterity].
9Of the tribe of Binyamin [Son of the Right Hand/Strength], Palti [Escape] the son of Rafu [Healed].
10Of the tribe of Z’vulun [Glorious Dwelling Place], Gadi [my fortune]’el [God is my Fortune] the son of Sodi [Acquaintance].
11Of the tribe of Yosef [(God) He Shall Add], [namely], of the tribe of M’nasheh [Causing to Forget], Gadi [my fortune] [My Fortune] the son of Susi [My Horse].
12Of the tribe of Dan [Judge], ‘Ammi’el [my kinsman is God] the son of G’malli [Camel Driver].
13Of the tribe of Asher [Happy], S’tur [Hidden] the son of Mikha’el [Who is Like God?].
14Of the tribe of Naftali [My Wrestling], Nachbi [Hidden] the son of Vosi [Rich].
15Of the tribe of Gad [Good Fortune with Troublesome Effort], Ge’u’el [Majesty of God] the son of Makhi [Decrease].
16These [are] the names of the men which Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters] sent to spy out the land. And Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters] called Hoshea [salvation] the son of Nun [Posterity] Y’hoshua [Yehovah is Salvation] [Jehovah is Salvation].
17And Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters] sent them to spy out the land of Kena’an [Merchant], and said unto them, Get you up this [way] southward, and go up into the mountain:
18And see the land, what it [is]; and the people that dwell in it, whether they [be] strong or weak, few or many;
19And what the land [is] that they dwell in, whether it [be] good or bad; and what cities [they be] that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;
20And what the land [is], whether it [be] fat or lean, whether there be wood in it, or not. And be you2f of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time [was] the time of the firstripe grapes.
21So they went up, and searched the land from the Wilderness of Tzin [Flat] unto Rechov [Broad Place], as men come to Hamat [Fortress].
22And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hevron [Seat of Association]; where Achiman [My Brother is a Gift], Sheshai [Noble], and Talmai [Plowman], the children of Anak [Neck], [were]. (Now Hevron [Seat of Association] was built seven years before Tzo’an [Place of Departure] in Mitzrayim [Egypt - The Narrow Place].)
23And they came unto the brook of Eshkol [Cluster], and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it between two upon a staff; and [they brought] of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
24The place was called the brook Eshkol [Cluster], because of the cluster of grapes which the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] cut down from there.
25And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
26And they went and came to Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters], and to Aharon [Bright, Very High], and to all the congregation of the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God], unto the wilderness of Pa’ran [place of caverns], to Kadesh [Holy]; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
27And they told him, and said, We came unto the land to which youi sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey; and this [is] the fruit of it.
28Nevertheless the people [be] strong that dwell in the land, and the cities [are] walled, [and] very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak [Neck] there.
29The ‘Amalekim [Dwellers in a Valley] dwell in the land of the south: and the Hitti [Terrorists], and the Y’vusi [Threshers, Trampled Under Foot], and the Emori [Highlanders], dwell in the mountains: and the Kena’ani [Merchant] dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Yarden [Descender].
30And Kalev [Dog] stilled the people before Moshe [He Who Draws Out Of The Waters], and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they [are] stronger than we.
32And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the people of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God], saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, [is] a land that eats up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it [are] men of a great stature.
33And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak [Neck], [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
