2 Kings 10
10
1And Ach’av [father’s brother] had seventy sons in Shomron [watch mountain]. And Yehu [Yehovah is He] wrote letters, and sent to Shomron [watch mountain], unto the rulers of Yizre’el [God Sows], to the elders, and to them that brought up Ach’av’s [father’s brother] [children], saying,
2Now as soon as this letter comes to you, seeing your master’s sons [are] with you, and [there are] with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;
3Look even out the best and most suitable of your master’s sons, and set [him] on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.
4But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
5And he that [was] over the house, and he that [was] over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up [of the children], sent to Yehu [Yehovah is He], saying, We [are] youri servants, and will do all that youi shall bid us; we will not make any king: do youi [that which is] good in youri eyes.
6Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If you2f [be] mine, and [if] you2f will hearken unto my voice, take you2f the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Yizre’el [God Sows] by tomorrow this time. Now the king’s sons, [being] seventy persons, [were] with the great men of the city, which brought them up.
7And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and killed seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him [them] to Yizre’el [God Sows].
8And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay you2f them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
9And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, You2f [be] righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and killed him: but who killed all these?
10Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), which the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) spoke concerning the house of Ach’av [father’s brother]: for the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) has done [that] which he spoke by his servant Eliyahu [my God is Yehovah].
11So Yehu [Yehovah is He] killed all that remained of the house of Ach’av [father’s brother] in Yizre’el [God Sows], and all his great men, and his relatives, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
12And he arose and departed, and came to Shomron [watch mountain]. [And] as he [was] at the shearing house in the way,
13Yehu [Yehovah is He] met with the brethren of Achazyah [Yehovah possesses] king of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised], and said, Who [are] you2f? And they answered, We [are] the brethren of Achazyah [Yehovah possesses]; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.
14And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and killed them at the pit of the shearing house, [even] two and forty men; neither left he any of them [alive].
15And when he was departed there, he lighted on Y’honadav [Yehovah is willing] the son of Rekhav [rider] [coming] to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is youri heart right, as my heart [is] with youri heart? And Y’honadav [Yehovah is willing] answered, It is. If it be, give [me] youri hand. And he gave [him] his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
16And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate). So they made him ride in his chariot.
17And when he came to Shomron [watch mountain], he killed all that remained unto Ach’av [father’s brother] in Shomron [watch mountain], till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), which he spoke to Eliyahu [my God is Yehovah].
18And Yehu [Yehovah is He] gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ach’av [father’s brother] served Ba’al [lord (a false god)] a little; [but] Yehu [Yehovah is He] shall serve him much.
19Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice [to do] to Ba’al [lord (a false god)]; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Yehu [Yehovah is He] did [it] in subtlety, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Ba’al [lord (a false god)].
20And Yehu [Yehovah is He] said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Ba’al [lord (a false god)]. And they proclaimed [it].
21And Yehu [Yehovah is He] sent through all Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God]: and all the worshippers of Ba’al [lord (a false god)] came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)]; and the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)] was full from one end to another.
22And he said unto him that [was] over the wardrobe, Bring forth robes for all the worshippers of Ba’al [lord (a false god)]. And he brought them forth robes.
23And Yehu [Yehovah is He] went, and Y’honadav [Yehovah is willing] the son of Rekhav [rider], into the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], and said unto the worshippers of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), but the worshippers of Ba’al [lord (a false god)] only.
24And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Yehu [Yehovah is He] appointed eighty men without, and said, [If] any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, [he that lets him go], his life [shall be] for the life of him.
25And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Yehu [Yehovah is He] said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, [and] slay them; let none come forth. And they struck them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast [them] out, and went to the city of the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)].
26And they brought forth the images out of the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], and burned them.
27And they broke down the image of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], and broke down the house of Ba’al [lord (a false god)], and made it a latrine unto this day.
28Thus Yehu [Yehovah is He] destroyed Ba’al [lord (a false god)] out of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God].
29However [from] the sins of Yarov’am [the people will contend] the son of N’vat [aspect], who made Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] to sin, Yehu [Yehovah is He] departed not from after them, [that is to say], the golden calves that [were] in Beit-El [House of God], and that [were] in Dan [Judge].
30And the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) said unto Yehu [Yehovah is He], Because youi have done well in executing [that which is] right in my eyes, [and] have done unto the house of Ach’av [father’s brother] according to all that [was] in my heart, youri children of the fourth [generation] shall sit on the throne of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God].
31But Yehu [Yehovah is He] took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Yarov’am [the people will contend], which made Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] to sin.
32In those days the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) began to cut Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] short: and Haza’el [one who sees God] struck them in all the coasts of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God];
33From Yarden [Descender] eastward, all the land of Gil’ad [Rocky Region], the Gadi [my fortune] [A Troop], and the Re’uveni [behold, a son!], and the M’nasheh [Causing to Forget], from ‘Aeo’er [Ruins], which [is] by the river ‘Arnon [Rushing Stream], even Gil’ad [Rocky Region] and Bashan [Fruitful].
34Now the rest of the acts of Yehu [Yehovah is He], and all that he did, and all his might, [are] they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God]?
35And Yehu [Yehovah is He] slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Shomron [watch mountain]. And Y’ho’achaz [Yehovah has seized] his son reigned in his stead.
36And the time that Yehu [Yehovah is He] reigned over Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] in Shomron [watch mountain] [was] twenty and eight years.
